Brigadier General Arnold, a Distinguished Military Graduate commissioned through ROTC in 1982, boasts over 37 years of military service, including three combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq.
He holds a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Ohio University, an MBA from Cleveland State University, and a master's from the U.S. Army War College.
Starting as an enlisted soldier, he later became an infantry officer, transitioning to Special Forces after the Special Forces Qualification Course. In 12 years, he served as Detachment Executive Officer, A-Team Commander, and Company Commander in the 11th Special Forces Group.
Notable assignments include Battalion Commander, Commander of Coalition Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan, and Assistant Chief of Staff of U.S. Army Special Forces Command.
Post-military, he worked at GE for over a decade in various roles, notably in the Aircraft Engine Business. He later joined Advanced Drainage Systems for 14 years and Lubrizol, leading a global business unit.
Arnold became President and CEO of GSE Lining Technologies, overseeing its growth and IPO on the NYSE. He returned to military service as Commanding General of the Army’s 100th Division.
His accolades include the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, and induction into Ohio University's ROTC Hall of Fame.
Arnold actively serves as a Trustee of Ohio University’s Foundation Board, Board member and past Chairman of Ohio University’s College of Engineering, and President of the Special Forces Association’s Ohio Chapter. He's also an accomplished firefighter and medic.
