What You Should Know Beforehand:

***Garden work can be dirty work! Please dress appropriately in comfortable, casual clothing that you don’t mind if it gets dirty. Dress in layers; wear sturdy shoes with closed toes. We will also provide gloves to any volunteer wishing to use them. Please don’t wear loose jewelry.

***Garden work can be hard work! Please know that many garden activities require standing, bending, squatting, and heavy lifting. We will accommodate people based on their abilities so if at any point you are unable/uncomfortable doing something let us know!

***Garden work can mean hot weather! During the summer, the heat index can be sky high so please drink plenty of water (we will have water here but it’s a good idea to bring some on your own), wear sunscreen, hats, and light clothing to protect yourself from the sun. Breaks are a must and volunteers need to take care of themselves in the heat.

***Garden work means bugs! Gardens attract both beneficial and harmful insects; sometimes harmful insects can be picked off to avoid damaging the plant, if this thought makes you queasy, then let us know and we’ll have you do something else!

Address: 3960 Brookham Drive, Grove City 43123. Head to far east side of building closest to I-71. You'll see a greenhouse!

Thanks again for choosing Mid-Ohio Foodbank!
