Friday, Sept 18 at  Briarwood Sporting Club  Enjoy an afternoon on a this beautiful property, the highest and most scenic spot in Ohio, 40 minutes from Dublin. Many ways to enjoy the outdoors with plenty of space for social distancing. Jackie Cooper and Dwight Hurd, Organizers and Hosts.

  • Arrive 11:30, BYO Lunch & folding chair.
  • 12:15: Learn from Guest Speaker, Drew McCartt*, Director of Sporting Services, about this unique private preserve. He’ll educate us about its history, grounds, lakes, streams, species of fish that are stocked, deer-hunting, wildlife and much more!
  • Take a Walk/Hike around the property (various mileage options). Jackie Cooper will be organizing this activity. There is one golf cart that we can use for those who need an assist!
  • Learn to fly-fish (we have some equipment – sign up early and let us know your needs) Dwight Hurd and Carl Faehnle will be organizing this.
  • Spin-cast fishing is available – bring your own equipment.
  • Or just come up for a relaxing afternoon, sit in a rocker on the outdoor porch of the Loafing Lodge, and watch fly-fishermen and women try to catch a beautiful Golden or Rainbow Trout!
  • 4:00ish: gather at the Loafing Lodge to tell “fish tales”, drink a cold one (BYO), and have some smoked trout, cheese and crackers.
  • Cost: Any fish caught, is divided between the people who fish. $6.50/lb, cleaned. Bring a small cooler.
