John Rush

John Rush is a Marine Corps Veteran and Social Entrepreneur. Over the last twenty years John has provided supportive employment for over 5,000 men and women who have spent time in jail or prison and/or are in recovery from alcohol and/or drugs. Over the last three years John has started three companies here in Columbus focused on "Fair Chance Employment." He will be sharing with us his experiences with CleanTurn, 180 Demo and Third Way Cafe illustrating what is meant by "Fair Chance Employment" and why it is so important for businesses and our community.  etc.

VOCATIONAL LUNCH FUN
Thank you again to those who hosted and participated in our October 12 Vocational Lunches.  Our hosts included:

Lea Coburn and the Arnold Sports Festival,

Jim Bartha touring members around Downtown Delaware, and
Ann Ralston and Ralston Consulting, Inc.

Our October 31st WALKING WITH THE DEAD 5K and Fun Run will once again be held in person at Green Lawn Cemetery.  This fun, in-person, Halloween event will feature safety protocols, including this mask, and will be the place to be on Saturday.  Who else can say that they were in a cemetery - after dark - on Halloween.

ANNUAL CAMPAIGN PROGRESS
We are happy to report that the Columbus Rotary Foundation Annual Services Campaign is off to a great start.

As of today 40 donors have pledged $ 30,400 toward the campaign.  That represents 17% of our membership. 
Thank you.  

This pin represents will be bestowed to those whom have given $500 or more to the campaign.  This amount is the average donation from our previous campaign.  A list of these donors is included.
 
Our Campaign will match every dollar over your 2019 donation through October 31st. This can be completed on our website or via the mail. Of the funds  noted above an additional $4,000 will be donated through this matching program.

FABULOUS FRIDAYS
AT GRIGGS RESEVOIR BOAT HOUSE
Join us on Friday mornings as we gather at a local park for a bit of in person fellowship.  Bring your lawn chair, coffee, tea, and anything else as we continue to build the blocks of friendship that make Rotary what it truly is.  
Friday, October 16 @ 8 am
Location: Enter Griggs Reservoir off Riverside Dr. and turn left at the bottom of the hill.
Parking: Drive South and park in the parking lot next to the boat dock. There is plenty of open grass space and a large covered pavilion.

Following a tenant of his Presidential speech, Chip has introduced this pin that we will use to award to members this year for meeting his call to action.  He first asked that you check in on someone not on the Monday Zoom call.  That's something we should do each week. 

This week's Dare - Qualify for an Annual Campaign Match by giving more than last year.
