Please join as we learn inspiring and little known information about the Columbus Symphony from Rotarian and Executive Director, Denise Rehg.  Hear great music from a talented trio from the orchestra who will not only perform a great repertoire but will also present an educational look at the music.  Preforming will be  Robert Firdman – violin, David Thomas - clarinet, and Betsy Sturdevant – bassoon.  Attendees will also have an opportunity to “win” one of several pairs of tickets to experience a full masterworks concert .

Habitat for Humanity Mid-Ohio was founded in 1987. Since inception it has grown to be the 7th largest affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. Habitat’s Mission statement is “Seeking to put God’s love into action, HFH brings people together to inspire hope, build homes, empower families, and develop communities.

We are looking for 10 Columbus Rotarians to come volunteer on Saturday March 16th to help build a deserving family a beautiful, energy efficient home. Please reach out to Jordan Hunt if you would like to join. This opportunity is free and you are welcome to bring your spouse, significant other or children. Spots will be filled on a first come, first serve basis and it is expected they will go quick!
Build will be 8:30-4:00 pm and location is determined about 1.5 weeks in advance and then will be distributed to participants!
One of Eastmoor High School's community service projects is the Warrior Fit Club. Teacher-Club Advisor Ms. Green and a cadre of her students are committed to spreading the values of exercise and healthy eating to fellow students, families and to a local senior center. The Fit Club told Rick Studer it could really use a variety of fitness equipment items. Rick contacted Mr. Fitness, Dave Zid. Result---Dave met with the Fit Club to donate equipment and guide them through various exercises. Dave committed to meet regularly with the Club and to bring additional equipment. Check out this video to see Dave in action. Bravo Dave.

Note from President Calloway
Dear Fellow Columbus Rotarians:
As I missed my first Monday luncheon as president this past Monday, I have heard the new members did a fabulous job running the program.
Lots of service projects to sign up.
Please think of your prospect and invite them to Rotary.
Be the Inspiration!
Yours in Rotary, President Calloway

Monday Announcements

We all know that Rotary works best when we spread the word about what we and our committees are doing.   Each week agendas are prepared and a final version is distributed on Friday to all of those who have a role in the upcoming meeting.
It would be helpful if you would send your announcements or requests for time on the agenda into the Club office by Thursday each week.  Will you need a Power Point, pictures or a video at Rotary? works better to get that into the office earlier in order for it to be downloaded and tested before hand.

If you want to schedule something week's or months out you don't have to worry.  A weekly planner is available for the staff to log in requests well ahead of time.
2021 President Elected
At the Columbus Rotary Board meeting on January 16 Amanda Bowen was elected to serve as President in Rotary Year 2021-2022.  Amanda will begin her term on July 1, 2019 as Vice President.  She will follow President Elect John O'Meara and VP Chip Chapman.  Amanda is only the 5th woman to serve as President in the Club's 107 year history, and 32 years since women joined the membership roles.  Amanda also has the distinction of being the youngest woman elected and the second youngest President in recent Club history.  Mike Schoedinger holds that honor, holding the gavel when he was 36.
On Jan 24th 13 Rotarians helped to make and serve breakfast at the Ronald McDonald House.  We made their twitter feed with a picture and comment.
