District 6690 Donates $100,000 to Area Food Banks
With the spread of COVID-19 in Ohio and across the world, District 6690 Rotary Clubs recently answered the emergency plea for help by donating $100,000 to the Mid-Ohio and Southeast Ohio food banks.
Semi Annual Dues
Members should have received this "Open Letter" earlier this week.
Dear Rotarian,

We hope this message finds you as well as can be hoped during these challenging times. With spring weather finally upon us, and plans for the reopening of Ohio businesses beginning, we are optimistic that the worst is behind us. We do not have a date in which we will begin regular Monday meetings at the Boathouse just yet, but we have several ways we are supporting our Rotary family and our community right now:

Rotary is "Special".  One of the many benefits to being a Rotarian are the special opportunities that become available to members, families and friends.  It could be a behind the scenes tour, access to a new venue, or a private tour of a thoroughbred farm in Kentucky.

This is another.
Bring Your Grad to Rotary 3.0

We will hold our third Annual Bring Your Graduate to Rotary on Monday, June 1st at noon via Zoom. however it will be held virtually this year,
As we had a fabulous keynote speaker last year when I invited my friend, Kathleen Sullivan, we have an excellent speaker for grads and all members on June 1, 2020.  Congressman Steve Stivers will present brief prepared remarks to leave ample time for questions from our grads first and members too about our interesting pandemic times as we move to the other side.  How timely?!
As I initiated this day in July 2018 and followed up with second annual grad day last June 2019, it is up to you our members to invite your grad. Starting with middle schoolers graduating, high school, vocational, technical, military training/service, college and grad schools, we want you to make the invite.  We have had children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  We have been and will be inclusive.

We will present each grad via a power point slide:
Rotary Masks
How about using this time to show that Rotary is leading the way while also supporting Rotary seamstresses in Quatemala?  The Club will be buying the masks below.  Order yours today on our website (Look for this picture).

I'd like to introduce you to Calvin Wade.   He will be interviewing members about projects, activities, and who they are in the coming months.   Check out a little about Calvin here or on our You Tube page.
As we navigate our current situation, please join us each Monday for our Meetings at 12:00 PM EST.

We have pivoted to hosting these meetings via Zoom.  You will receive an email with meeting info the week prior and (hopefully) a reminder on Monday mornings.  You can also watch as we live streaming on the Columbus Rotary Facebook page, though this is not an interactive experience.

What does that mean to you?  You can chat with your friends on Zoom.  You can hear a weekly program.  You can hear a corny joke or two.  Life goes on, as will ROTARY!

Questions or challenges connecting call Scott at 614-221-3127 and he will have a volunteer work with you.
