Join Leaders  Exchange Ideas  Take Action

Founded in 1975, Canine Companions for Independence® is a non-profit organization that enhances the lives of people with disabilities by providing highly trained assistance dogs to children, adults and veterans to ensure quality partnerships. The assistance dogs we breed, raise and train aren’t just the ears, hands and legs of their human partners. They’re also goodwill ambassadors and often, their best friends. They open up new opportunities and new possibilities, and spread incredible joy. We unite people with dogs in a powerful program that leads to greater independence and confidence. We are excited to share more information about the growth of this program with the Columbus Rotary including a presentation by one of our graduate teams and a local puppy raiser.
MEMBERSHIP MADNESS 2.0

WINNERS!
Thanks to all who participated.  Keep up the good work.  Keep inviting your friend and associates to ROtary.  New members are the lifeblood of Rotary.

THANKS FOR CHECKING IN

Each week we ask Rotarians to grab their name badge and check in when they get to our meetings.  For the most part you do, but at times we get busy and forget.  Understandable.  Please try to stop by the table each week so we can mark your attendance.

Additionally, each member owes $6 when they attend.  Some membership categories pre-pay this meeting fee.  For those that have not prepaid, we collect $6 at the door.  From EVERYONE.  "I'm not eating today." still costs $6.

If you have any questions about the fees you owe each week, please contact Scott at the office.

ROTARIANS AND FAMILIES

The following members and their families need your cares, concerns and prayers.
Rotarian Jeff Johns' father in law passed away Monday, March 20.  He had been ill for several weeks but had 98 years of full life.  He was a pilot and commander in WWII and the Korean conflict.

You are urged to reach out to these members individually if you choose.  Their contact information can be found online or on our app.
If you are aware of news that should be shared here please contact the club office.

A FEW FACTS
It has come to our attention that a few basic facts should be shared about the raffle.
  • 1500 tickets sold may provide the Club and Club Foundation with $70,000 that will benefit our projects and activities
  • This could be the largest fundraiser the club has had in recent history
  • This raffle replaces the Derby Day Auction. In other words we won't be asking for your condo, timeshare, club membership etc.
  • Share the raffle to your social media page with one click from the website or club facebook page
  • If every member accounts for 5+ tickets sales we sell out
  • Raffle ends April 30 - Award announced May 6
  • Contact Scott Brown or President Jack with questions
EMPTY TABLES

We've noticed a lot of empty seats lately at Rotary.  We hope this is due to snowbirds and spring break.   We can't wait to see everyone again, so if you've missed a few meetings, can you make some room on your schedule for Rotary?  Hope to see you soon!
Leadership Retreat

THIS SATURDAY!

The Leadership Retreat is for all Rotarians who are or would like to be better leaders in the Club and/or their business.  The program will last from 9 am through 1 pm and cover topics such as 1) the governance and operational details of Columbus Rotary and Rotary International, 2) skills and techniques for project and committee management, 3) methods for motivating workers and volunteers and 4) a strategic discussion on the desired future of Columbus Rotary.

DISTRICT ASSEMBLY - BEYOND OUR CLUB

We often hear about Rotary activities and events outside of our own club.  Columbus Rotary is just one of 59 fellow Rotary clubs in SE Ohio District 6690.  Each spring the District hoists a meeting called "District Assembly".   This is an excellent way for newer Rotarians to engage in club and district activities furthering their understanding of Rotary.
