ROTARIANS AND FAMILIES

The following members and their families need your cares, concerns and prayers.
Rotarian Jim Tornes called the office this week to report on his absence.  Jim suffered a stroke on January 17.  He reports that "recovery is going good".  In his usual way he kept the matter quiet, so that folks didn't feel obligated to reach out to him.  Jim is ready to start attending lunch, but could use a ride if you are able.  He is still using a wheelchair/walker as needed and loading into a car can be a challenge.

You are urged to reach out to these members individually if you choose.  Their contact information can be found online or on our app.
If you are aware of news that should be shared here please contact the club office.

MEMBERSHIP MADNESS 2.0

Team Captains have been named for Membership Madness.  These folks are recruiting, throwing around scholarship money, and other inducements.  Choose wisely and you'll make it to the April 3rd Championship Game!  If you want to reach out to a Captain to join their team, please do so.

The first game is in progress and points are on the scoreboard.  Get into the game now!

WATER WELL PROJECT in ETHIOPIA

A few facts: As you may know, Rotarian Mimi Tadesse has been the leader of the Water Well project in Ethiopia that you may have heard about. She is from Ethiopia, and her organization helps impoverished women in an area there called Oromia. This project involves drilling 3 water wells which will serve approximately 1000 people. The cost of the project is approximately $45K. We have donations from private donors, and other Rotary Clubs but the majority of the money will come from a Global Grant that our District has submitted to Rotary International. We are hopeful that it will be approved very soon!

DISTRICT ASSEMBLY - BEYOND OUR CLUB

We often hear about Rotary activities and events outside of our own club.  Columbus Rotary is just one of 59 fellow Rotary clubs in SE Ohio District 6690.  Each spring the District hoists a meeting called "District Assembly".   This is an excellent way for newer Rotarians to engage in club and district activities furthering their understanding of Rotary.
