Applications for 2012 Phoenix Scholarships Now Available
Columbus Rotary has announced that applications are now being accepted for the 2012 Phoenix Scholarship Program.
This unique scholarship opportunity is for non-traditional undergraduate students with good grades and the drive to change their lives and the lives of others. The Phoenix Scholarship program is for those students who either did not qualify for scholarships following high school because of grades or entrance exam scores. Phoenix Scholarships can also be for students who didn’t choose to pursue a college degree immediately following high school, or are finding themselves in need of “re-tooling” their careers to meet new demands of the 21st Century workforce.
To qualify, applicants must have completed at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of coursework, be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at a college in Franklin County, have a minimum 2.75 gpa, and be a U.S. citizen, as well as either a permanent resident of the city of Columbus, a graduate of a Columbus Public High School, or have a child enrolled in Columbus Public Schools.
Deadline for applications is March 30, 2012. All scholarships are for the 2012-2013 academic year and will be awarded directly to your college in July of 2012.
The downloadable application form is accessible from the home page of the Columbus Rotary Web site. Visit www.columbusrotary.org and scroll down the homepage for access to the story and application.
