15TH ANNUAL HIGH SCHOOL FAIR
May 14, 2018 at the Valley Dale Ballroom
 
Celebrating the 2017-2018 high school community service activities
at a special Columbus Rotary luncheon
 
 
Purposes
  • Provide a showcase for community service projects conducted by student teams from all Columbus City high schools and an opportunity for students to discuss their projects with teams from other schools, CCS faculty, Rotarians, and other community leaders.
 
  • Honor all projects including an exemplary project from each school and several special recognition projects.
 
  • Recognize CCS faculty members who served as community service project advisors.
 
  • Salute corporate supporters and community organization partners.
 
  • Award various Rotary scholarships totaling more than $50,000.
 
Participation
  • Three projects from each high school are exhibited at the Fair. Three students and one faculty advisor from each team, high school principals, and the Career & Community Resource coordinators attend the Fair as Rotary’s guests.
  • CCS Board of Education members and administrators.
  • Rotarians and various other community leaders.
 
Agenda
10:45a.m. – Preparation              
Students arrive and set up project display boards.
 
11:00a.m-Noon – Project Displays
Rotarians, other community leaders, and CCS staff view the project displays and engage students in conversations about: project goals, activities, impact/results and personal learning through community service involvement.
 
Noon-1:15p.m. – Rotary Luncheon
Recognize all community service projects; hear several student presentations and commendations by community leaders; salute corporate supporters; present Rotary scholarships.
